{Update Friday, October 29th}
Workout for Monday, October 25th
Cathe Friedrich--4 Day Split--Lower Intensity Step
-Finished all of cardio portion, purposely leaving out intensity blasts
-Did all of shoulder work with weights as well
Obviously, I am not going to do Cathe's core work on this workout, due to the fact I am due in 7 weeks with a baby =) However, on this Fit Yummy Mummy blog site, I found some great suggestions (and video demos!), of how to do ab work safely while pregnant. Just scroll down from where this link takes you to see them, if you like. I am excited to integrate these into my exercise routine, as I gear up for the marathon. To me, I feel like I am in "training" more than ever these last 7 weeks, gearing up for the birth, which many compare to your body doing a marathon! I want to be eating as healthy as possible, (of course there is always some wiggle room for certain things!), exercising daily if I have the energy, and just doing all I can to prepare mentally for a new life in our home, and all of the adjustments that go with that. I will try to keep posting my workout routines these last weeks, and again after I start to workout again after our little bambino makes his entrance into this world.....
Warmly,
Joy
Tuesday, October 26th (33 weeks along!)

Friday, October 29th
-Did 2 cardio sessions, (and yes, I know I haven't given birth yet.....these are low impact workouts that mostly work well for pregnancy too =) as well as the standing yoga session

I am shocked that I have not even given a hint or mention of exercising on this blog as of yet. Exercising is very high on my long list of things that I love....and it makes me feel like a million bucks. I don't always achieve my goal each week of exercising as often as I'd like, after all I do have 4 kiddos and am pregnant, however; I know I reap great rewards when I do my best to make it a high priority. I feel better, look better, and sleep like a baby. Also, it will help keep my pregnancy weight gain down, and help me lose the baby weight faster later on. This will be on on going log I keep, week by week. It may motivate you, and I hope it motivates me too, to keep going and keep up with my fitness goals during my pregnancy!
Week of 9.6.10
9.6.10
Focus: All over body strength
Time it took: approx. 50 min.
Finished this in it's entirety. A good challenge for an experienced exerciser or a beginner. There are options to follow either one. Being an experienced exerciser, I followed the advanced, and it is definitely a good challenge! So many pregnancy videos are too easy, and lack a good challenge. I appreciate the challenge in this one!
9.7.10
Off
9.8.10
Focus: Cardio
Time it took: approx. 50 min.
Finished: Bonus cardio; bonus cardio combo; Step combos and blasts from circuit cycle #2 & 3
-Since it is low impact, there really is no need to modify much, other than maybe making the movements smaller as you get farther along in the pregnancy (speaking of the cardio portion of the workout only.)
***Cathe Friedrich is my all time favorite....I have been exercising to her dvd's for almost 6 years! There is so much variety, and she does such an excellent job of cuing and motivating, that I would recommend her workouts far above anyone elses.***
***Please remember to ask your doctor before you begin ANY workout, especially during pregnancy. They will know what is or isn't safe for you to do....the safety of our babies is our #1 priority, not being in our best shape!***
{If you are so inclined, what are you doing for your pregnancy exercise routine? Please leave a comment, or link up your own pregnancy routines if you like. We can motivate each other! =) }
Yes...that is so true about checking with your dr. before exercising while pregnant...I had a little blurb about that at the end of the post, but it's definitely worth mentioning again! Thank you for the kind words...I feel privileged to be worthy of being "bookmarked"
