Shadow puppets, corn mazes, and giveaway winners!

 

Now that the evenings are getting much shorter....it's basically totally dark here by 7:30....we have been thinking of some fun activities to pass the time.  Last night we had so much fun playing shadow puppets.  We took two of our kitchen stools, draped a white sheet over them, and used a lantern and a flashlight (worked better), for our light.  Check this wonderful post out, which leads you to do this outdoors, and has a link to  WONDERFUL old images of how to make different animals and images with your hands.  We used them for some of our images last night, and had a lot of laughter going on.  Next time I think we'll be making up stories, and maybe we'll cut out some images beforehand and put onto popsicle sticks for some shadowy storytime fun.

Does this conjure up W.C. Fields in anyone else's mind?

A loon?  A dolphin?

This past weekend we had some autumn fun at Knollbrook Farms, which is in New Paris, Indiana. The whole family had fun, which I know, will not last forever.  Pretty soon, we will have a much harder time, I'm sure, finding things the whole family enjoys....but for now, I'll take what I can get =)  

They have a corn maze, with 6 miles of paths in it!  

"Does anyone know how you get out of this maze???"

 

 

 

They had a mini pumpkin slingshot where you would try to get the little pumpkins into an innertube floating in the middle of the pond.  Everytime Miss K tried to do it on her own (the way she usually prefers), she would fall in the dirt, so daddy helped her most of the time.
